Angel Lake

Angel Lake is a natural alpine lake located in the East Humboldt Mountains in Elko County, Nevada, USA. The lake is situated at an elevation of 8,391 feet and covers an area of approximately 51 acres. It is fed by snowmelt and a few small streams, and its waters flow into the Angel Creek, which is a tributary of the South Fork of the Humboldt River. The lake is surrounded by picturesque mountains and is a popular destination for hiking, camping, fishing, and picnicking. There are several trails that lead to the lake, including the Angel Lake Scenic Byway, which is a paved road that winds its way up to the lake through the mountains, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Fishing in the lake is allowed, and visitors can catch trout, including rainbow, brook, and brown trout. There is a small campground near the lake, which offers basic amenities such as picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets. Angel Lake is accessible by car from Lamoille, Nevada, which is approximately 12 miles away. The road to the lake is closed during the winter due to heavy snowfall and is usually open from late May to October.
